Taui Fusion Reactor
Styled in distinctive rounded shapes, this fusion reactor is perfect for hi-tech and advanced sci-fi alien settings.
The reactor measures 303mm x 160mm (12" x 6½"), with a height of 270mm (11"). The surrounding low wall is 20mm tall, and has space behind it for placing models on bases up to approximately 35mm. It features a 30mm wide entrance at the rear. A free-standing monitor terminal is also included and can be located anywhere.
This hollow terrain piece has been designed with clear PLA filaments in mind. The outer walls are approximately 2mm thick, and by printing in your choice of clear or colour-tinted 3D printer filament, you can easily add lighting effects with clusters of LED lights inside the reactors and the surrounding walls. The hollow reactor core also features 5mm holes, and can be wired for LEDs. The hollow monitor terminal can similarly be used with LEDs to illuminate the screen. Please see the photos of the painted model for examples.
No print supports are required for this model, except the central reactor core. All sections fit on 125mm print beds, but the combined versions are also included for larger print beds. The base, for example, can be printed as 4 small pieces, or one larger piece on a 250mm² print bed.
A deactivated version of the model is also included, without the central reactor core, for those who want to design their own "energy source" (e.g. clear crystals), or just to model it switched off.
