 Samurai Lantern

Samurai Lantern

A wooden toro lantern from old Japan, typically used on roads to light the way. These lanterns suit any town or countryside village setting, and even castles, shrines and temples.

The lantern measures 48mm tall, and 28mm wide, and can be fitted with a CR2032 (3V) battery and LED lightbulb, commonly found in cheap LEDs. Please note that you will need a small length of thin wire or flexible paper clip to connect the battery terminals. This lantern does not include an ON/OFF switch, but the battery can be easily poked out to switch off the light.

UPDATE: Version 2.0 of this lantern has been added to the ZIP file. This second version features a vertical battery slot, and will print without supports. It does not require a paper clip for assembly. See the second video below for a 10 second "how-to" guide.

You can further detail the lantern with the addition of thin white paper in the top section, surrounding the bulb. To do this, please cut one strip of paper to 7mm x 30mm, and fold into four parts lengthways. A solid version of the lantern cage is also included, if you prefer to paint the lantern screens.

* Samurai warrior models not included. Battery, LED and wires not included.
