The peasants have been called back and set to work, as construction begins on the samurai castle corner tower!
£ Designed to fit neatly with the existing castle walls set, this corner tower is based on the famous Hitsuji Saru Yagura tower of Kumamoto castle. Kumamoto castle's surrounding fortifications were mostly destroyed in the big 2016 earthquake, but this corner tower actually still stands ..... very precariously. Happily, restoration work is underway, and this beautiful corner tower with its distinctive wooden cladding with hopefully be viewable soon.
£ Starting with the existing corner wall section, the corner tower is limited to the 12.5cm shape, so it's essentially a one-piece print for each level. The interior will be fully detailed and textured, and include great details such as the hanging floors with their murder holes and arrow slits. The window shutters can be modelled open or closed.
£ This pic shows the work-in-progress first level of the building, with its classic roof shape (not finished!). An alternative roof will be included too, allowing you to choose between a single level and double level tower.
£ Here's the two-storey version of the building - again, the roof is still incomplete. Jeez, tiled roof shapes are HARD!!!
Stay tuned for some printed pics soon...
